    Conformation
Conformation is another term for dog shows.  When dogs are competing in
shows (such as Westminster or Eukanuba on television) this is called
    conformation.

In conformation the dogs are judged on their structure, temperament and
movement based on their individual breeds written standard.

Conformation is one of the few sports in the world where professionals compete
against non-pros.  Owners can handle their own dogs.

A purebred should conform to his breed standard, be free of structural and
temperamental faults and free of health problems to compete in conformation.

Purebreds and mixed breeds can both compete in conformation.

    Rally
Rally Obedience (or Rally-O) is one of the newer sports out there for dog
lovers.  Rally involves you and your dog running through a course which is made
up of different signs telling you what to do.

In rally the course changes all the time with each trial.  The courses and signs
become more challenging and difficult as you progress through the levels.

In rally you are permitted to communicate and interact with your dog.

Rally is a great, relationship building sport.  Even if you choose not to compete,
rally classes are fun and teach your dog a number of different skills.

Purebreds and mixed breeds can both compete in rally.

    Competition Obedience
Competition Obedience involves training your dog to perform certain exercises
based on the level he is in.

The first level is Novice in which the dog must do heeling, both on and off leash,
a recall and finish, sit stay and down stay, and a stand.

The next level is Open which includes jumping and retrieving as well as off leash
heeling, more advanced stays for a longer duration with the owner out of sight
and some other fairly advanced exercises.

The highest level is Utility in which the dog must do directed retrieves, more
difficult jumping, hand signals from a distance, scent discrimination and more.

Purebreds and mixed breeds can both compete in obedience.

    Canine Freestyle
Canine Freestyle is a fun new activity where handlers simply dance with their
dogs.  Freestyle can be done for competition or just for fun.

Purebreds and mixed breeds can both do freestyle.

    Agility
Agility is a sport that involves the dog learning to complete courses that contain
several obstacles including jumps, tunnels, a teeter totter, weave poles, a dog
walk, a tire jump and a table.

The agility course changes all the time so you never know what your course will
look like which means that you must decide how to perform your run just prior to
    competing.

Purebreds and mixed breeds both compete in agility.

We offer classes for Rally (beginning and advanced), Competition Obedience,
Introductory Agility Fun and Games classes and Freestyle.
